So I have a confession, I actually started reading this quite some time ago but I had so much going on with work I stopped and suddenly picked it back up. I was instantly hooked on the book once again and binged the last 2/3’s quite quickly.

Here is the synopsis pulled from Netgalley:

Nestled within an enchanted forest is the Grove, a community where witches and warlocks practice natural magic, brew mystical potions, and lock their cellars against beer thieving gnomes. Life is quiet and uneventful. Well, except when Hazel’s long-lost father uses necromancy to trap her dead mother’s soul.

That simply won’t do. Necromancy is forbidden in the Grove, and for good reason too. Nobody wants filthy corpses shambling around, mussing up one’s garden. Hazel is determined to find her father and undo his treachery.

But despite Hazel’s plans of becoming a one-woman army, she can’t do everything alone. It’s not until wild sister Holly convinces her to leave the house for once and go to a party that Hazel finds a pair of unlikely allies in two bickering warlock brothers.

Together, the four of them go on a journey that takes them out of the Grove and into a world where necromancy reigns and the dead won’t respectfully stay in the grave. Hazel will do whatever it takes to stop her father and save her mother’s soul. Even if it means turning to necromancy. Even if it means losing her friends. Because they would never help a necromancer. Would they?

Pattern – Choices

Pattern – Choices

Hi all!

I hope you’re having a lovely week today I thought I would share another iconic RuPaul’s Drag Race quote for you. This one is simply ‘choices’ and is one of my favourite from the whole show!

You can download this pattern for free here!

This pattern is one of my most simple and this would be great for a beginner!

I’d love to see people’s take on this pattern – feel free to tag me on Instagram/Twitter or use the hashtag #ObvItsAmyStitches!

Pattern – Sickening

Pattern – Sickening

Hello!

Just a little short blog post from me as I realised I haven’t shared a pattern with you all in a long time and recently I’ve been getting commissioned to make a few designs – all my patterns on here are free however. You can click on the tags section and find one marked as ‘free patterns’.

And as Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars has started again I thought I would share one from one of the fabulous contestants, Latrice Royale! So far most of my patterns have been quotes, but once I have a bit more spare time on my hands I’d like to begin making more creative pieces. For now enjoy!

I would say this pattern would be great for someone who has done a simple pattern in the past – so a beginner.

You can download this free sickening pattern here.

Pattern – Girl Look How F**king Orange You Look

We all loved season 5 of Rupaul’s Drag Race didn’t we? It brought to light some of the best one liners, and this one in particular is in my top 10 quotes of all time.

As I have quite a backlog of patterns I thought I’d share another free downloadable one for you today, and you might have guessed that it came from season 5 pageant bae Alyssa Edwards.

You know that moment between her and Coco? One of the best moments in RuPaul Herstory. Well I thought I’d make a quote pattern from it and add a cute little flower to the bottom of the screen, do you have a friend who loves bronzer or wears a little bit too much fake tan, well this is the pattern for you!

Pattern – If you can’t love yourself

Today I thought I’d share one of my own patterns with you, as most of you know a lot of my patterns are very heavily inspired by the wonderful drag queens of the world.

One of the first basic patterns I created was a quote from the famous mumma Ru!

I created this pattern using MacStitch which is a programme I bought back in 2016, it’s a really easy to use piece of software for stitchers who want to get creative and make their own patterns.

Help yourself to this free pattern, if you create it please share pictures with me over on Twitter or Instagram! #ObvItsAmyStitches
