A question I get a lot is, what is the easiest blanket to make? And one of my favourite, very easy and super quick work up blankets is a Corner 2 Corner (c2c). Also this blanket doesn’t eat too much yarn so you’ll have a blanket in no time at all!
You do not need much for this pattern at all! What you’ll need:
- Hook (make sure it matches your yarn size – or go bigger if you would like a blanket to have gaps)
- Scissors & Needle (if you’re planning on changing colours and want to sew in the ends)
Here is a snippet of one I made earlier – this blanket was made on a colour changing yarn and it ended up being the exact size of our king sized bed as I wanted something I could wrap myself up with in the winter. I think I approximately used up 12 balls of yarn for this, but it really is huge, it’s 6.6 foot by 6.6 foot.
Before starting one thing to note about the c2c blanket is you start from the corner and work diagonally, if you’re used to working in straight rows this can be a bit tricky at first.
Now I would write out a tutorial but there are so many out there already – and to be honest I’d much prefer to link to the places which taught me! If you’re looking for a video tutorial, of course my go too is always Bella Coco, especially as she always does left handed versions for us lefties!
And for written I really like this one by make and do crew!
If you are going to try making a C2C blanket this Christmas, let me know!
